Tanis Helliwell, M.Ed. is the founder of the International Institute for Transformation. Since January 2000, IIT has offered programs to assist individuals in becoming conscious creators to work with the spiritual and natural laws that govern our world.

Since childhood, Tanis has seen and heard Elementals, Angels, and master teachers in higher dimensions. She speaks and gives workshops internationally on a variety of topics including Working and Playing with Nature Spirits and is the author of Summer with the Leprechauns, Pilgrimage with the Leprechauns, Decoding Your Destiny, Manifest Your Soul’s Purpose, Hybrids and The High Beings of Hawaii: Encounters with mystical ancestors.

Day 1 (May 9th, 2020)

Arrival and visit to the elf school

Welcome to Iceland! After clearing customs, you travel individually to your accommodation in downtown Reykjavík. In the afternoon at 13:30 the tour starts with a greeting by Tanis, Ingrid and Jorg to meet all participants followed by a 3-hour private session with a teacher of the Elf School in town. Overnight in hotel Klettur in heart of Reykjavik and dinner included with the group.

Day 2 (May 10th, 2020)

Meet the elves, Reykjanes

Highlights of the day:

  • Hafnarfjörður elf garden
  • Bridge between continents
  • Gunnuhver and Reykjanesviti lighthouse

Today you will explore Reykjanes peninsula. First stop is in the town of Hafnarfjörður – Iceland´s second largest town, located just in the greater area of Reykjavik. There you will make a first stop in “the elf´s garden” Hellisgerði where your guide will tell you more about the elfs and trolls living in this garden. I recommend you also visit the nearby Elf House, a small information centre with elf themed art works and handicrafts as well as food and beverages. You continue your tour to the Reykjanes peninsula, where you visit next the famous bridge between continents. Next up is a stop at Gunnuhver geothermal area, where you can see and smell the steam coming up from inner earth. Nearby is Reykjanesviti lighthouse, which is Icelands first lighthouse.The cliff right at the lighthouse is very popular for nesting birds.

Returning to Reykjavík about 15:00, you can either relax in your hotel or do some further exploration on your own. The famous landmarks in town are Perlan building, Hallgrímskirkja Church and Harpa – Music & Conference centre.

Day 3 (May 11th, 2020)

The Golden Circle

Highlights of the day:

  • Þingvellir National Park
  • Geysir
  • Gullfoss waterfall

Another day full of interesting sights to explore. Today your journey takes you along the beautiful Golden Circle. First your guide takes you to Þingvellir National Park. Þingvellir, because of its beauty and its geological and historical value, was accepted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. This is the site where the Vikings first assembled in ancient times. After exploring the treasures of the park, you will head south to see Geysir Spouting Spring and Gullfoss waterfall to complete the “Golden Circle”. Enjoy the afternoon seeing the sizzling hot springs and geysers and the force of the great waterfall. Your accommodation will be in the area.

Day 4 (May 12th, 2020)


The South Coast

Highlights of the day:

  • Seljalandsfoss
  • Skógafoss
  • Skógar Folk Museum
  • Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach

Today you will head to the famous South of Iceland. After breakfast and packing, you will travel east to the picturesque waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss. Above the waterfalls you can get a glimpse of Eyjafjallajökull where the great volcanic eruption took place in 2010.  You make another stop at the mystical Reynisfjara black beach. Your guide will tell you more about Reynisdrangar cliffs and there connection to the hidden folk.

Day 5 (May 13th, 2020)

Vatnajökull and Glacier Lagoon

Highlights of the day:

  • Vatnajökull National Park
  • Glaciers
  • Glacier lagoon - Jökulsarlón
  • Höfn

Vatnajökull National Park can be explored today. The ampibian boat tour in the glacier lagoon Jökulsarlón with an exciting view of the glacier growing into the lagoon.

The day will end in Höfn.

Day 6 (May 14th, 2020)

East of Iceland

Highlights of the day:

  • Djúpivogur
  • Fjord scenery
  • Hallormsstaðarskógur
  • Egilsstaðir

Time to travel the tranquil and beautiful East Fjords of Iceland. After passing Djúpivogur, you will explore the East Coast of Iceland. Travel through tranquil coastal villages towards the largest village in the east, Egilsstaðir. If the time allows can you stop at Petra's Stone & Mineral Collection (Entrance fee not included). Petra spent a big part of her life collecting special stones and minerals in Iceland which are rare in Iceland.

Day 7 (May 15th, 2020)

Borgarfjörður-Eystri – elf queen home

Highlights of the day:

  • Borgarfjörður-Eystri
  • Home of the elf queen
  • Dettifoss waterfall
  • Mývatn area

Today you are visiting the charming area of Borgarfjörður-Eystri. With a total of around 100 inhabitants, the area, nonetheless, has plenty to offer, including some of the most populated elfin settlements in Iceland. After exploring the area and meeting the home of the elf queen, your journey continues further north. Your guide takes you along Dettifoss Road to explore Dettifoss Waterfall (the most powerful in Europe). You will overnight for the next two nights in the Mývatn area.

Day 8 (May 16th, 2020)

Lake Mývatn

Highlights of the day:

  • Krafla
  • Geothermal area Námafjall
  • Jarðböðin Nature bath - entrance with use of towel included
  • Mývatn

Today you will visit the amazing and almost surreal Mývatn area. Around lake Mývatn you will visit amazing attractions such as the colourful Námaskarð pass, the Skútustaðir pseudo craters, the Dimmuborgir lava formations, Krafla volcano and grjótagjá cave. While visiting Dimmuborgir your guide will tell you more about its history and clarify why it´s also called “gateway to hell”. You will also try the famous hot pools Jarðböðin Nature bath and stay for another night in the area.

Day 9 (May 17th, 2020)

North of Iceland

Highlights of the day:

  • Goðafoss
  • Akureyri
  • Christmas house
  • Church in Akureyri

Today you will continue your journey along the north. On your way to Akureyri (the “Capital of the North”) you will make a stop at the charming Goðafoss waterfall. This waterfall is a significant landmark in Icelandic history and mythology. Your guide will tell you the story about this sight and how it came to its name. In Akureyri we recommend that you visit the Christmas house and visit the nearby Kaffi Ku café. Your guide will also take you to the Akureyri Church, situated on a hilltop overlooking the centre of the town.

Day 10 (May 18th, 2020)

Pearls in the West of Iceland

Highlights of the day:

  • Settlement Exhibition in Borgarnes
  • Reykholt
  • Hraunfossar and Barnafossar

It’s time to continue your Iceland travel. You will leave the north behind and start making your way to the beautiful west of Iceland. There you will visit some further highlights before finishing your round tour in Reykjavik in the evening. Sights along the way are Hraunfossar waterfalls, Deildartunguhver (the largest hot spring in Europe) and the Settlement Center in Borgarnes. In the evening, you will arrive in Reykjavik, where you will spend another night in the city center.

Day 11 (May 19th, 2020)

 

Departure: Your Iceland travel is coming to an end. How time flies when you’re having fun. We wish you a safe journey home and thank you for traveling with Tanis.

Tanis Helliwell does not accept responsibility for any cost that may incur because of failings to take out insurance coverage. It is the travelers responsibility to ensure that the insurance covers all their activities during the holidays. Please be advised to read your policy carefully and please take it along.
